We went on the Wild Louisiana Tours kayak tour in late February with Kurt (sp?). Overall we (4 adults) had a great time! Kurt gave us good information about the swamp and the native and/or invasive plants and trees that were brought into Louisiana. It was an over cast day with a couple downpours but it was not cold so we were still able to enjoy the experience. It was an easy kayak trip - only a few spots that required much effort to get through. This would be fine for any beginner kayaker. Unfortunately we did not see any gators or other wildlife. I read in other reviews that the gators don't come out in the colder weather so there was little expectation to see any but it was disappointing, nonetheless. I don't hold the tour company responsible for that at all. They are eco-friendly and don't believe in "baiting" to get the gators to come around which we are happy about.
My average star rating is for two reasons - when we first arrived to the location we were greeted by three very welcoming and friendly men, including our guide Kurt (sp?). They offered our group the use of the restroom, and also offered drinks (water or beers), and snacks. When we went to grab a couple of water bottles - one of the men says "$2 per water guys." At first we thought he was joking. The way the drinks and snacks were offered gave us the impression it was included in the tour. We embarrassingly placed the waters back because we each brought our own hydroflasks. When offering, they should have said that the drinks and snacks were available for purchase, if we were interested. It would have saved us embarrassment.
I reduced the other star because the life vests could use some replacing. In my opinion, they are in bad shape.
Although we don't regret going with Wild Louisiana Tours for kayaking, we had a great time, we might try the airboat next time!

When I first started this company my goal has always been to offer my guests a quality experience and accommodations. If you go with any other outfitter in the area you will have to meet them on the side of the road, park your car on the highway, and have no restroom or other accommodations available to you. After five months of digging ditches for plumbing, installing electricity, and laying gravel for a parking lot myself, I was happy to finally be able to offer my guests a restroom, food and drinks, and off-street monitored parking. What an unfortunate first response to trying to provide my guests with more quality amenities. Seems like three stars is a little excessive because you thought water was free, what other business would you walk into and take a water out of a coca cola merchandising fridge and assume it was free...
