Easy walk from French Quarter to the pick up location, fairly short ride to the swamp, It was a pretty easy paddle through the bayou, some great scenery and wildlife (got to see an owl close up in a tree) and a gator off in distance (disappeared before we got too close). We went pretty far in and then turned around and went back to the drop in location. Me and my family are not used to kayaking often, so we were pretty tired and the paddle back felt more upstream and upwind and was pretty exhausting. Probably a little too fast paced on the return, would recommend slowing it down if possible. Also recommend having plenty of water (in my opinion should have been provided), so bring some along. All in all a very good time and tour, a couple of small tweaks and definitely would be first rate.

We took a morning kayak tour with Kate. She picked us up, super easy! After a short ride to the bayou, we entered the swamplands, and had an adventure. Kate was super knowledgeable about the flora and fauna we saw, and could answer all our questions. She even recommended some great spots back in the French Quarter! Lots of great photo opportunities and wildlife-- we saw a baby gator and beautiful cranes. Highly recommended!

Very good, complete and special tour! We have done many kayak tours in the past but none of them were like this! You get to be in direct contact with the swamp and see many animal species!
