The four of us paddled in two, two-person kayaks under Interstate 51 then out into a peaceful bayou. The day was rainy but our guide, Katie, made our trip interesting and fun. We saw a beautiful barred owl and many, many alligators up close. The bayou is beautiful and clean. I did one previous swamp tour in a boat; it was a nice change to be in a quiet kayak close to the water and the alligators, with flexibility to move at whatever pace we wanted, lingering to observe the wildlife or paddling fast for some exercise. No skill required!

Very much loved our kayaking trip with Wild Louisiana! Nick was a great guide. Informative, patient and personable. We had as much fun learning about the bayou as we did about him. He shared with us fun stories from his personal experience plus facts about the environment. The friends we were with struggled to navigate and fell back a few times. Even with the possible storm headed our way, we remained patient and level headed. I appreciated his overall transparency throughout the trip, it made me feel safe as we journeyed through the swamp. I loved how that the tour was kept smaller, giving us more opportunity to spot shy critters and hear what our guide had to say. Thank you for such a memorable time. I will definitely recommend Wild Louisiana to anyone and would be happy to book again next time we are in the area!

We had a great time exploring the Manchac Swamp. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the history and wildlife in, and around, the area. We saw multiple alligators (all of them were small and kept their distance!), several species of birds, turtles, and a whole family of barred owls! Even though our group was on the larger size, our guide made sure everyone was well taken care of. The kayaks are comfortable and very stable and all the gear was in good shape. The St. Roche market was a great meeting spot and made for a pre-trip coffee and a nice lunch after the tour.
