Twomey Cellars
After lunch, your small group heads to the intimate, yet modern winery, Twomey Cellars. Founded by the Duncan Family, owners of highly-regarded Silver Oak, the winery uses the same philosophy: use locally harvested fruit to make exceptional wines that are deliciously drinkable upon release. A laid-back Napa Valley vibe is created by their farmhouse-style tasting room that opens up onto a sun-filled courtyard and Sauvignon Blanc vineyard with views of the Calistoga foothills. The Duncans apply their 40 years of winemaking experience to create single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and estate Sauvignon Blancs that pair beautifully with food.

This was a great half day wine tour in Napa. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. We visited the smaller winery which was nice, not too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Then we stop away the downtown Sonoma area to shop and explore. On the way back to SF, we stop to take photos with perfect view of Golden Gate bridge. Back in SF in time for nice dinner. The whole day was great except for the bad transportation issue in the morning... they had to change vehicle that causes us about an hour delay in the morning.

We booked the small group wine country tour a month in advance for our Easter weekend trip to San Francisco. Visiting Wine Country was what I was most looking forward to, so you can imagine my disappointment when we received a call around 5pm on Wednesday stating our tour was cancelled. Our tour was scheduled to leave at 8am Friday morning and I felt that the ~38 hours notice they gave us was insufficient and unprofessional. At the point we found out it was canceled due to the minimum # of travelers not being met, we didn't have the option to book another comparable tour within the time frame. Extranomical tours said we could take "a similar tour" and suggested the Muir Woods/Wine Country Tour to us. They dodged the question multiple times over how big this group would be and kept assuring us the tour was "basically the same thing". THANKFULLY, we did not book this tour, after finally finding out that there would be 60 others in attendance. Quite different from the 8-person small group tour we had booked. I found it more annoying they kept trying to talk us into this second tour stating it was the same tour, when in fact there were 52 additional people and a massive coach bus, rather than small group van. The lack of professionalism with this tour company has confirmed that I will never use them for a booking again in the future. I would warn others to beware when booking through them, as well.

Visited 4 wineries and stopped for a brief picture opportunity at the Golden Gate Bridge. Very nice tour with a range of high end to very affordably priced wines as I can't go on a wine tour and return empty handed. B.R. Cohn, Frogs Leap, Ledson (building looks like a castle) and Kieu Hoang are the wineries we visited but they can change pending negotiations with the tour. This is the second time I have taken this tour and we indeed went to different wineries before but they take good care of you wherever you end up. Our Driver was very entertaining also (Sebastian from Germany). Enjoy!
