Small-Group Public BYOB Sunset Boat Tour on Lake Austin

Overview

Perfect for solo travelers or small groups who don’t want to rent the entire boat themselves, this intimate cruise offers the perks of a private cruise without the associated costs. Our captain serves as a tour guide who may point out landmarks, celebrity homes, or share their own personal stories from the lake. Bring your own drinks—alcoholic beverages welcome—and a camera to capture photos of the lakeside grotto known as Little Venice.

The Lake Austin cruise takes off from the Loop 360 Boat Ramp located below the southern end of Pennybacker Bridge over Lake Austin. This three-acre park is primarily used for lake access, but offers a grassy area for picnicking. A few bald cypress and sycamore trees grow along the water's edge.

Multiple boats are used for this event, we'll do our best to accommodate special seating requests. Please let us know if you have friends booking separately that you'd like to sit with.

Pennybacker Bridge

Mount Bonnell

Mount Bonnell, also known as Covert Park, is a prominent point alongside the Lake Austin portion of the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. It has been a popular tourist destination since the 1850s.

Little Venice

A semi-private grotto we call Little Venice where you get a closeup view of the Lake Austin mansions.

My husband and I ended up winning tickets to the sunset boat tour, and it completely exceeded our expectations! Captain Rob was an incredible guide and made sure everyone had a good time. We enjoyed this tour so much that we are already planning on another trip with friends soon!

Me and my wife decided very last minute to do a tour. It was a lot of fun. The captain was knowledgeable about the history of the lake and area. We took pictures and met some awesome locals and others who were traveling like ourselves. Since it was last minute we didn’t prepare. But others brought drinks and food and made a whole picnic. This will definitely be something we do again!!
