I sure agree that Sam is real gem; his enthusiam is utterly infectious! I'm so glad you got to experience his tour. Plus the other tour guests are pretty much always a treat. It's always amazed me how well these tour groups bond over the course of the day. Thanks so much for posting!

The small group tour of Sonoma wineries is terrific. Our tour guide Army was excellent and was extremely knowledgeable about not only the wineries and Sonoma, but also about the wines. It is a lot of fun and you can drink as much or as little as you like. I also learned a lot about wine making, growing grapes, and tasting. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel and Army was nice enough to drop us off in downtown Napa to save us an Uber. Well worth the money.

Army is indeed an extraordinary tour guide. Most of our guides have been with us for several years or more (I'm so pleased to say!), but Army is the longest-standing tour guide at over twelve years. I think this matters a lot, since there are so many nuances and long-cultivated personal connections that make the difference to providing extraordinary experiences for our guests, time after time. There is no one better at this work than Army is, and I'm grateful you posted about him, Chris! Please come see us again; we'll show you all different wineries next time!

My wife and I had an awesome experience with Andy touring Sonoma wineries. Andy was way more than a tour driver, he was a gracious host and wealth of knowledge for all things related to wine, Sonoma, and Napa. Andy is also the author of a wine tasting book called the Snob Free Wine Tasting Companion which we purchased multiple copies as gifts for family. Highest recommendation for Platypus Tours, and especially request Andy as your guide, you won’t be disappointed!
