Your tour will begin with pickup from your Sonoma area hotel. Depending on where you are staying will define the tour region that you will be visiting. If your accommodations are outside of the winery region, you can arrange to meet us a general meeting spot. You’ll visit three charming, backroads wineries and be served a picnic lunch in an idyllic winery setting. Your tour guide will tell fascinating stories and share many interesting tidbits about local history, culture and wine making. This is not a smarmy or touristy activity. Our specialty is intimate, light-hearted and truly memorable. This tour is sure to entertain with a very approachable and easy-going style. Discover and savor new experiences tasting some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Our typical guest is not necessarily a wine expert but keen to learn a bit about wine and wine-making, and is open to sharing the experience with a few other like-minded wine adventurers.

The owner of Loxton Winery was delightful and his passion for winemaking was refreshing and appreciated. Our driver, David was truly an expert on wine making. He was personable, professional, and worked diligently to educate us and ensure our experience was fun and memorable. His efforts were very much appreciated.

We booked onto a group tour and were very lucky to be part of a small group of lovely people. We had the option of being picked up from our hotel for our Sonoma Wine Tour. Our tour guide Stephen was very informative and very accommodating. He definitely knew the area and was familiar with the tour and what was to come. We visited three very beautiful vineyards, with delicious wines. Also the lunch provided was delicious especially as we are vegetarian! Highly recommend using them.

Our guides certainly put a great deal of effort into putting on the most compelling experience they can every day, but the lovely people (and not too many of them) part really makes the tour pop. Had the best time with Andy who was extremely knowledgeable about Sonoma and wine in general. The small group was amazing and it made the trip so much more enjoyable. It turned out to be a great group of people to spend wine tasting with! I highly recommend Platypus for all your wine tasting needs. It was worth it.
