Experience the Sonoma wine region in a unique way – on the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley. Hop aboard this historical replica of a San Francisco cable car and grab a seat on a special wine tasting adventure you will never forget. This open-air trolley will let you experience the picturesque vineyards like no other tour. On this tour, your friendly and knowledgeable guide will take you to three wineries for tastings. You will visit Sonoma's top historic landmarks and enjoy lunch during one of the scenic stops. The tour starts at 10:00 and and ends around 4:30.

What To Expect

Sonoma Valley

Your day in California wine country starts as you hop aboard the Sonoma Wine Trolley, modeled after the famous historical cable cars of San Francisco. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable tour guide whisks you off to four outstanding Sonoma-area wineries, known for both their wines and their hospitality. Each wine tasting takes place at the winery and a representatives at each winery will explain the different varietals you’ll sample and the background of the wineries (wine tasting fees are not included and you can expect fees of $30 to $40). There will be wonderful photo opportunities on this tour and your friendly guide will be happy to take a photo or two of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country.

This was my first visit to Sonoma county, and I wanted to plan a day trip that offers a "taste" of different wineries. This trip did not disappoint. Our guide Paul was knowledgeable and entertaining. Each of the wineries offered a distinct experience -- from the outstanding art in the Imagery Winery tasting room and the actual visit to the heart of the vineyards (and caves) at Benziger Winery, to the wine pairings with herb-embedded dark chocolate at Paradise. This trip has it all: great wine, great food for lunch, a great way to travel from place to place, and a great variety of winery experiences. Highly recommended, especially for novices like me.

We had so much fun on the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley! Would highly recommend taking this tour. The driver was super informative and funny. Had a blast!

We visited 4 different wineries. It was very informative especially for someone like myself who doesn’t drink wine. My husband who does enjoyed it also. Also at the beginning of the tour Richard our tour guide took us to some historical site also in the town of Sonoma. Lunch was also provided. It was very tasty and a little fancier than a normal box lunch. Trolley was a bit noisy and engine fumes were somewhat noticeable. But all and all it was a nice trip but a bit expensive with having to pay for the tasting or have to buy a bottle of wine in addition to the original fee for the tour. I would recommend it despite that though.
