Experience the Sonoma wine region in a unique way – on a San Francisco-style trolley, for an open-air ride through rustic, sun-kissed Sonoma Valley. Stop at 3 different wineries to sip and swirl fine Northern California varietals. This open-air trolley will let you experience the picturesque vineyards like no other tour. On this tour, your friendly and knowledgeable guide will take you to three wineries for tastings. You will visit Sonoma's top historic landmarks and enjoy lunch during one of the scenic stops. The tour starts at 10:00 and and ends around 4:30.

Must be 21 years or older to take this tour.

What To Expect

Sonoma Valley

Your day in California wine country starts as you hop aboard the Sonoma Wine Trolley, modeled after the famous historical cable cars of San Francisco. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable tour guide whisks you off to four outstanding Sonoma-area wineries, known for both their wines and their hospitality. Each wine tasting takes place at the winery and a representatives at each winery will explain the different varietals you’ll sample and the background of the wineries (wine tasting fees are not included and you can expect fees of $30 to $40). There will be wonderful photo opportunities on this tour and your friendly guide will be happy to take a photo or two of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country.

There was 2 coach buses but me and my girlfriend who are both females were put in the bus with all couples. It wasn’t the best for when the other bus had all women who were not paired up. We also got back about 45 mins later than expected, which hindered other plans. At the wine tastings, it was expected for everyone to do all the tastings. You should see the stares and disappointment on the faces when you said I’ll sit this one out.

We here at the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley are never happy when we have to switch to a bus for reasons out of our control. In this case we had two vehicles and had to take the group in both and apologies if it made you and your girlfriend uncomfortable. It was purely a random split. As far as the entrance fees or tasting fees yes each winery has them and offer a special rate for our guests.

We had friends from out of town who wanted to see the wine country but are not great walkers. This was the perfect way to experience Sonoma County and all it has to offer with very little effort. The winery tours were great and so was the lunch. Our Trolley driver, Paul, was informative and very interesting. He was also conscious of our special needs and did everything in his power to accommodate to them.
