We signed up for the City Tales Sightseeing Tour several months ago for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The voucher asks patrons to arrive a half hour prior to departure time. We were there at 8:30am for a 9am tour, but our tour guide didn't show up until 9:15am. Upon his arrival, he didn't introduce himself and was all over the place - to the point where we began to think it was a scam. We followed him over to Castle Clinton where he left us for 20 minutes as he talked on the phone and paced around. Once he finally came back in with the tickets, he was 5 tickets short and had to go back out to repeat the process. It wasn't until 11:00am that we finally got his name, David, and when we finally headed towards the ferry. He was unorganized, frantic, did an awful job at explaining facts, and kept going off to talk on his phone. Once at the Statue of Liberty, we we noticed that the general admission tickets that any patron can get, includes a free audio tour. David was so scatterbrained, all over the place, and unprofessional that we left the tour to listen to the audio and continue on to both sights on our own. The sights are incredible and well worth the trip, but can be done on your own and definitely without David/City Tales Sightseeing.

In my previous response I let you know I would be looking into this situation and I have done that.
I sincerely apologize that your experience was not as it should have been and that the service was below the standard that you rightfully expected.
Since this led you to leave the tour early and you did not receive the service or product that you paid for I've initiated a full refund for you on March 14th. It should have already been credited back to your credit card. I've also taken the necessary action in response to your comments.
Because there is nothing I can do at this point to reverse what happened I would also like to offer to send you the gift card of your choice, equal to the amount you paid for your tour.
