Ellis Island Immigration Museum

On Ellis Island you will visit the National Museum of Immigration to learn about the journey of the millions of immigrants who passed through the island from 1892-1924, arriving in America, in search of a better life.

Visiting Ellis Island was the most memorable part. Being inside the halls that determined whether you could enter the USA was an emotional experience. Our guide Jorge had so much knowledge about NY history and overall history of the arrival of immigrants at NY. He was a great guide and would not have learned as much without him.

Our tour guide gave us an in depth background of the history of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island including showing us photos of the historical moments of the Statue. I had previously seen it as I was passing along on the Staten Island Ferry but it was breathtaking to see Lady Liberty up close and in person. The museum was very interesting as well. One point to note is that we didn’t get to go up to the pedestal since it was closed due to the pandemic but that is beyond the tour company’s control. Overall I give this tour 5 stars and in particular our tour guide did an outstanding job! Highly recommended!
