Join us for our 90 min evening walking tour as we wander through the shadows and hear stories about pirates and pepper, secrets of the oldest cemetery in Salem, brutal murders, strange legal battles, curses, spiders, torture, and of course a ghost story or two. Excellent tour. Factual and engrossing. None of the usual ghost stories and paranormal stuff. Covered several murder stories of early Salem including the witch trials. Harry Houdini even got a story told about his escape from jail. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Jeff was an excellent guide! He was very considerate of the needs and abilities of everyone on the tour. He is clearly an expert on Salem’s history. The tour was entertaining, informative, and spooky!

There is much more history to Salem than the tragic witch trials and hearing these incredible stories from Jeffrey was a genuine great time. With walking tours the guide can make all the difference in the world and being a great guide goes far beyond knowing the material (which he absolutely does). Jeffrey is passionate about these tales and it shines through as he seamlessly weaves historical fact and entertainment with the craftsmanship of a true storyteller. The stories you hear on this tour will entertain you, stick in your brain, and give you a much deeper understanding of the dark history of Salem. There are many tours to choose from in Salem, and unfortunately some of them tend to take liberties and sensationalize the stories. I assure you Better Than Fiction is not one of these companies.
