I recently went on a fabulous cruise and saw and did many wonderful excursions. The absolute most outstanding day was with Alpine Air Alaska helicopter glacier dog sledding trip out of Girdwood, AK. Our guide/musher Andrew and our pilots going, Taylor, and returning Shane both were fun and explained some glacier history and what to expect when we landed. The office staff was so gracious and helped us get ready with boots, rain pants, jackets and gloves. We were allowed to pet the sled dogs and after our tour we got to play with the puppies (8 weeks old). I wish I had the words to express just how extra special this experience was. Thank you Alpine Air Alaska. Linda D

First thing we did in Alaska and a totally awesome start to our visit. Flight in helicopter though the mountains and valleys was beautiful, now we believe what people say that Alaska is best appreciated from the air. Team on the glacier were super friendly, clearly love what they do and the dogs. Spending time with the dogs prior to dogsledding was a surprise including how great dogs were with strangers. Sledding was great fun and our musher gave us a great education on living in Alaska. We even witnessed some fresh bear tracks in the glacier snow beside the dog sledding track leading up the mountain

We had booked a morning tour at Seward but due to poor weather it was cancelled. Since we were driving that day anyway to Anchorage (beautiful drive), we rescheduled for Girwood in the afternoon. After one additional postponement due to strong winds we went up and it was an incredible experience. Everyone was so nice and caring and certainly this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you should do. Also much cheaper than during it through the cruise ships
