Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

This was my first time trying surfing, and after seeing a sign on side of the road my friend and I decided to give it a try. It ended up being the highlight of our short trip to Hawaii! The instructors were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Very laid back, while still being professional. The pictures that the photographer took were amazing, and each group of 2+ got a free copy of the pics after the lesson. My only regret was that I only had time to take one lesson, they will be my first stop next time I am in Hawaii! They really created a desire to continue to learn surfing in me. I will recommend them to everyone I know who is going to Waikiki for a trip!

We were in for the 2 hour lesson in Dec 2017, Oahu. Amazing teachers, all of them, and we had 12 surfers and everyone got up briefly 10 of 12 got up for good 300m-400m long rides. They give you practice time, and would recommend trying a few standups in the water on the way out to the surf zone. They give you great advice and a good push, so anyone who can paddleboard can surf and look awesome. They take photos of your best moments. Best experience on Oahu. Totally worth the cost.

We had a group of four adults that joined a group lesson and two teens with a semi-private lesson. In both cases, the lesson starts out on the sand learning how to paddle, then stand on the board. Within 15 minutes you're out in the ocean and, very quickly after surfing your first wave. The instructors were top notch - friendly, patient, and super helpful. The teens found the semi-private exceptionally helpful and didn't want the lsson to end. Highly recommend HH for any beginner!
