Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

The team at this surf shop is really great! Every part of my experience was fun, safe, and professional. Everyone in my group lesson was getting up on their own by the end of the class. My group was small enough that there really was no waiting by the time each of us paddled back. Noah was awesome at helping me and keeping it fun. Both of our instructors were clearly passionate about surfing and seemed sincerely excited about new surfers becoming excited about it as well. I'm not sure how these guys could have made the experience any better.

The instructors at Hans Hedemann Surf School were amazing. It is evident that they are passionate about sharing the joys of surfing with the world. They create a fun and non-intimidating atmosphere, perfect for beginners. Safety is paramount and the location of Waikiki beach, ensures that the waves are small and safe, but big enough to enjoy catching. My husband and I joined our son for the first lesson, then he did two more without us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time in the water and would definitely recommend Has Hedemann to people wanting to give surfing a go.

We booked the day before for 2 people for an 1.5 hour private group lesson but came with 4 people, the staff were extremely professional and friendly. Our teacher was this lovely young man name Noah, who is like a seal in the water. He was very skilled and a great teacher. All four of us had a great time and we bought the pictures they took for $35 which was totally worth it. I appreciate that we experienced surfing culture and I now have a much deeper respect for the athleticism and endurance needed to be a good surfer. We're all inspired and pumped to do more! Thank you very much.
