Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

Brilliant time learning to surf with Charley, Duke and co. Can go at your own pace and the whole group were all standing up and surfing in the lesson. As a former synchronised swimmer, swim instructor & manager of Team GB Olympic synchro team, I’m used to technical instruction and feedback, and how it can be too much for beginners but I found their instruction super clear, easy to follow and brilliant teaching feedback after each wave for me... one or two points which was perfect to focus on the next time. Most of all they were all really friendly, encouraging and so much fun! Would def recommend!! So cool to be surfing and seeing Diamond Head in front of me!

This is a fabulous surf company. We stayed at the Turtle Bay Resort so it's just a 5 min ride to the surf location (sometimes they surf right at the hotel). Sadly, the photographer wasn't there so all I could rely on was my go pro to capture my 3 daughters while I surfed myself. It didn't ruin anything though and we had a wonderful time surfing! We even spotted a few turtles! The hard part was that lessons had been canceled the day before, due to weather, and they had to move them to our day so there were A LOT of people surfing in the 1 area. No ones fault but made for some minor collisions. Our 2 instructors were super friendly but due to the amount of people the girls couldn't try catching waves on their own. Kind of a bummer but once again it didn't ruin it. They had a lot of fun!!! Fun little waves for beginners as well as surfers like us who are lucky to surf twice a year! *for those who don't surf there's a beautiful beach here to relax and/or take photos from the side. someone caught a photo of me surfing and shared it with me. bring snorkel gear if you're a good swimmer. good spot to see turtles

Charley was super patient and tailored the lesson to each of our needs. I learned so much from him. He was super encouraging and we all had a great time and surfed immediately. Would definitely do this again.
