Surfing - Group Lesson - Waikiki, Oahu

Overview

Learn to surf on this 2-hour group lesson on Oahu. Join a group of students and discover how to ride the waves like some of the Island's most famous celebrities with the help of a certified, professional instructor. We have small student to instructor ratio of 1 instructor for every 3-4 students. Waikiki Surf Lesson starts a 10 minute safety slide show inside our surf shop, followed by heading to the beach and practicing on the sand for another 10 minutes. In our 20 year experience, we know that surfing is muscle memory, so when first timers master their surf stance then they tend to get up on their very first wave.

Great experience with an Ohana session for my family at Turtle Bay. I wasn't sure if my 7 year old son would be on his own board or tandem but the instructors thought he could handle it and I trusted them. They were completely right. Because of his age, he had his own instructor the whole time who was amazing and made sure that even though he was on his own, he always had someone right there when he needed it. As all first time surfers, we weren't sure what to expect but left getting to ride many waves, learning a lot, and having a fantastic time. Highly recommend!

The instructors (Charlie, John, and Jonas) were excellent. We all had a super time and they were all very helpful and detailed with their instructions. We started the lesson on the beach where we focused on the process from paddling to standing. We practiced this over and over until we felt comfortable to get on the water. We have 2 boys (8 and 12 yo) and they were able to learn very quick. I would highly recommend.

My husband and I had a group surf lesson two days ago with instructors Charley and John. It was an incredible experience! They gave us a detailed lesson on the beach on how to get onto the surfboard and maintain your posture/balance while riding the wave. When we went out to the water, we each got to experience at least 5 waves each (there was 6 in our group). Every time you go catch a wave Charley or John is there giving you tips to succeed and be able to get up and ride the wave. My husband got up once and said it was the best few seconds of his trip. I loved how attentive the instructors were and made sure to keep an eye on us and told us where not to go to make sure we were safe. All in all- awesome experience! Make sure you ask for Charley or John- they’re the best!
