What To Expect
1
Danza del Sol Winery
Wine Tour (De Portola Trail - Daily) Late Bird Tour (Saturday Only) Danza del Sol is the first stop of our Traditional Wine Tour. It's a boutique winery and was the first winery built on De Portola Road in the 1970's. For the 11 am and 11:45 am tours, we always try to arrange a mini production tour so our customers can learn a little bit about the wine making process and the different fermentations wine goes through between stainless steel vessels and oak barrels.
2
Somerset Vineyard and Winery
Wine Tour (De Portola Trail - Daily) Late Bird Tour (Saturday Only) Night Out Tour (Friday & Saturday) Somerset Winery is where we arrange a production tour for every time slot of our Traditional Wine Tour. Someset is unique because is it the only winery in southern California (and one of only 8 wineries in the U.S.) which produce wine through the ancient terra-cotta process which started in Persia over 8,000 years ago. The process involves fermentation inside large clay vessels which avoids producing tannins from the traditional oak barrels, and instead gives the wine a more all-natural taste. Many wine enthusiasts say that this is the most pure way to make wine, but you will have to determine that for yourself once your take our wine tour!

Our guide was excellent. We went for a girls weekend and weā€™re running late and the tour waited for us to get to the right vineyard since we went to the pickup location during the week.

Meet our tour guide personally and had a conversation with him while we waited for the rest of the group. In our 1st stop we noticed he was telling other people 10 minutes we leave and he never came to us. Since we saw everyone leave we started to walk towards the van and he was already driving off with out us and we are 4 in our group he must have seen empty seats. My husband chased the van to stop and he did and NOT one apology. That ruin our whole experience. David has a sheet will all of names how did he miss 4 of us. On our last tour we decided to stay since it was a nice winery. Nobody told us they close at 7pm and we chatted until we noticed we where the last ones. Tried to uber or lyft and nothing. Workers didnā€™t tell us they closed and that was a bad experience trying to figure how to get back to our hotel. More communication would of been great for us first timers. Will not use this company again but will definitely return to the wineries that was a nice experience.

Oh my goodness. Why? The person behind this review is complaining that the last winery she went to closed at 7 pm, however, her wine tour ended at 6 pm. This customer purchased our 1 pm Late Bird Tour which ends at 6 pm. When her tour ended at 6 pm, her driver asked her to return to the bus so that she could be brought back to her original pick up location. The customer refused, and stated that she wanted to stay longer at the last winery. Anything which happend after 6 pm is not our fault. The fact that the winery closed at 7 pm is not our fault. Ugh, this kind of stuff is just so disheartening! Please people, can we just be fair when we are leaving reviews? And can we please understand that there are real people behind these companies which we are reviewing, people who are just like you, who are trying their best to pay their mortgage/rent, and are working hard to have the certainty that they will always be able to put food on the table for their children. We are all experiencing the same struggles, and it's these struggles which are supposed to connect us, and not divide us by throwing mud at each other to see who we can hurt the most. When we try to hurt others, we are also hurting ourselves. None of it makes sense. We just need to stop ourselves from doing it. Please people...if there was anything which I could ever ask of us, it would be that we all try our best to simply just 'keep it real'. That's really not too much to ask, other than also asking the person behind this review to 'keep it real' by taking it down. I am not going to hold my breath, however, because I understand that some programming is just so bad, and runs just too deep. My faith in humanity will not waiver because at the end of the day, what other choice do we really have? Should we just pack it all in and simply give up on ourselves? That doesn't seem like a viable option, so instead we can choose to keep the faith and pray. If you read this response to the very end, then I hope it put a smile on your face and made your day a little bit brighter! Peace and Love everyone :) PS...and to the person stating they were left behind. I'm sorry the driver didn't realize you were not on the bus, and abruptly stopped while moving the bus 10+ feet forward after the other guests alerted him of your absence. He certainly did not purposely start driving, and stopped immediately to let you on. I apologize for what I believe was an innocent Freudian slip. Sometimes we siinply cannot stop those type of slips from happening. Ironically enough, the people who take them personally are usually the same people putting them into motion.
