What To Expect
1
Danza del Sol Winery
Wine Tour (De Portola Trail - Daily) Late Bird Tour (Saturday Only) Danza del Sol is the first stop of our Traditional Wine Tour. It's a boutique winery and was the first winery built on De Portola Road in the 1970's. For the 11 am and 11:45 am tours, we always try to arrange a mini production tour so our customers can learn a little bit about the wine making process and the different fermentations wine goes through between stainless steel vessels and oak barrels.
2
Somerset Vineyard and Winery
Wine Tour (De Portola Trail - Daily) Late Bird Tour (Saturday Only) Night Out Tour (Friday & Saturday) Somerset Winery is where we arrange a production tour for every time slot of our Traditional Wine Tour. Someset is unique because is it the only winery in southern California (and one of only 8 wineries in the U.S.) which produce wine through the ancient terra-cotta process which started in Persia over 8,000 years ago. The process involves fermentation inside large clay vessels which avoids producing tannins from the traditional oak barrels, and instead gives the wine a more all-natural taste. Many wine enthusiasts say that this is the most pure way to make wine, but you will have to determine that for yourself once your take our wine tour!

You will not get a ā€œwine tastingā€ experience with this. The first winery was good but the last 2 were not good and more like wine bars with a party scene.
Response from Host
Mar 2022
Oh wow. Okay, so this review caught our attention and is being taken very seriously by our team. I personally remember your group, and can recall seeing the five of you appear very happy throughout the tour. It's unfortunate that you didn't voice any concerns during your tour, as we would have surely tried to improvise had we known that the tour was not meeting your expectations. Just to recap, the part of your review which describes a party scene has some truth to that, and that is because you toured with us on a Saturday. Anyone reading this response should understand that Saturday is the busiest day at the wineries, and the number of visitors coming into the wineries equates to less of an intimate wine tasting experience like the one you received at at your first winery stop. Since the first stop was earlier in the day, we were able to provide you with table service from designated waitstaff. The experience you received at the first winery simply cannot be replicated at the other wineries on a Saturday because as the day progresses, the wineries simply become too crowded. So to anyone reading this response, please be advised that if you are looking for an intimate, personal, wine tasting experience, that you please consider booking Sunday through Friday. Saturdays are simply impossible to offer customers a guarantee that they will receive such an exclusive service due to the amount of traffic arriving at the wineries as the day progresses into the mid-afternoon. On another note, I would like to add that it seems that your two-star review was based more towards the experience you had at the last two wineries versus the experience and quality customer service you received by our company. For example, I specifically remember deliverying to your party of 5 people, hot and fresh from the kitchen, a cheese pull bread and a margherita flat bread. In addition, we dropped a cheese & chacuterie board and provided bottles of water, completing what many would consider to be a quality luncheon experience in wine country (Note: 100% of our competitors only offer boxed lunches). Anyway, I remember checking in on your group at least a couple of times during lunch to inquire if everything was good and if everyone was happy. Again, didn't receive any complaints, which now appears to have been a missed opportunity to accommodate any concerns you were obviously having at the time. Anyway, sending you warm wishes for a happy and healthy 2022. Kind regards, Moses :)

Loved the first winery. Smaller personal service. Somerset was nice but they could work on shelter and patio heating. We were kicked out of lounge area and it was very cold and windy outside.
