What To Expect
1
WeVenture New Orleans
Your New Orleans Total Day Tour starts where it all began, on the banks of the Mississippi River. From here, you’ll witness the lifeblood of this region which brought new cultures, new influences and new ingredients to the USA through its ports. As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. To wake up your taste buds, we’ll indulge in New Orleans’ most iconic breakfast pastry, the beignet.
2
French Market
Next we will head to The French Market, the site of America’s oldest public market and then on to the picturesque streets of the French Quarter where your guide will take you to some of their favorite palate-pleasing spots. You’ll sample both a classic dish, as well as a delicacy that you’ve probably never seen outside Cajun country. You’ll then have the chance to try a dish that sparks more controversy amongst chefs than any other in New Orleans: gumbo. We’ll also indulge in a sweet treat made from locally grown sugarcane and the region’s abundant pecans.
3
French Quarter
There will then be an opportunity to have a coffee or do some souvenir shopping in the French Quarter with your guide before we take a short walk to Jackson Square, where we’ll begin the cocktail portion of your total day tour! We will be going beyond the tourist trail to show you what really makes New Orleans cocktail culture unique. For our first cocktail stop we will travel back to the 1700s and visit a bar which used to entertain some of the most eccentric characters in New Orleans history. We will taste a famous drink of the city and learn how it has influenced New Orleans drinking culture today. We will then visit one of your guide’s favorite bars and taste a drink so good you’ll forget there’s alcohol in it. Next up, we will sample the ‘official cocktail of New Orleans’: the Sazerac. One of the first cocktails ever invented, it’s definitely tasty enough to stand the test of time. Our final cocktail stop will be at one of the classiest establishments in town to try one of the city’s most esteemed drinks, the Ramos Gin Fizz. After your first sip, you’ll truly understand why New Orleans has been called, “the cradle of civilized drinking.”
4
Louis Armstrong Park
There will be an opportunity to rest your feet or grab a bite to eat before the jazz portion of the tour begins. Then we’ll head over to the historic and beautiful Louis Armstrong Park in the Tremé neighborhood.
5
Frenchmen Street
We'll begin to make our way to the popular Marigny neighborhood, named after the nobleman and good-time guy of the same name. Updated for modern thirsts, Marigny is a hip nightlife area that appeals to New Orleanians and visitors alike. Your guide will lead the way, making sure to point out a few popular local music and nightlife haunts along the way. Soon we will arrive at the famous Frenchmen Street, the largest concentration of live music venues in the city. Your guide will take you inside one of his/her favorites for a beer on us (you’re very welcome to purchase additional beverages if you want them). In New Orleans, there’s always the opportunity for an element of surprise. We’ll be on the lookout for impromptu street performances, which always make the night special. And if the timing and mood is right, we’ll get behind the scenes with one of the bands in between sets.

All of our tour guides were top notch and extremely knowledgeable. Not only about their subject on the tour, but the city and history itself. Angela and Ryan gave excellent food and drink suggestions even beyond what we had time to cover in the tour. Food portion definitely had us satisfied with the amounts and variety. The cocktails were all delicious. Last tour was the jazz portion which was a bit much after a full day of eating and drinking but once we started touring the bands and restaurants I feel it really hit it's stride. Wonderful time with all the tour guides. Would definitely recommend!

As an American diplomat that was posted and recently evacuated from China, I came to New Orleans not knowing much about the city. I signed up for a full day tour with Urban Adventures through Marriott Bonvoy activities which included a food tour, a cocktail tour, and a jazz tour. I was instantly impressed after the food tour with Butch where I learned about the French Quarter, history of NO, cuisine styles. I tasted the gumbo, fritters, Bloody Mary, gator sausage, the famous beignet, Muffuletta, and both original and cafe au latit creamy praline. Butch showed us the places locals go to and avoided tourist areas. This was followed by the cocktail tour with Sophie. She was awesome! Very down to earth and knowledgeable of the best local cocktails there is to know. I had the the famous frozen Irish coffee, the Hurricane, the Sazerac, French 75, and an off the menu drink at the Bombay Club. Sophie talked about her experiences after moving here and fell in love with NOLA. Quite admirable! Finally, Sophie handed me off to Shane who did my jazz tour. We stared at the Louis Armstrong Park / Congo Square, then went to J&M Recording Studio (Now the Lost Sock), 1st Jazz Museum (Now St. Pierre Hotel), Buffa's Lounge (Saw the Ella Fitzgerald- inspired singer, Meryl Zimmerman) and Maison (Saw The Shotgun Jazz Band). Shane was extremely knowledgeable about the history of jazz and told us inspiring stories of Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden, Cosimo Matassa, Roy Brown (Good Rockin' Tonight), and Little Richard (Tutti Frutti). Both Sophie and Shane sent me a personalized follow up email after the tour with additional interesting facts and places to tour. I highly recommend visitors to consider signing up for the full day tour where you get to hit the truly best places the crescent city has to offer!

Urban Adventures has become an absolute must for me everywhere I go as they always have the best tours and quality, So for my first time to NOLA, I went with their 3 in 1 combo tour. Keep in mind, this is 3 different tours with 3 different guides chained together. Some people seem to not like this, but it doesn't bother me in any way. The day started with their morning food adventure. Angela was our guide and was great. She was very friendly and open to suggestions and very knowledgeable. We got to have all kinds of food and bits of history thrown in. This segment started at about 10:30 and lasted roughly 2.5 hours. We covered a lot in the French Quarter and was a great way to get familiar with things for a return to the area. Next up was the cocktail tour at about 2pm and lasted bout 2.5 hours. Our guide Sophie was incredible. We went to quite a few unique places and everything was amazing. It was very chill and we had a great time trying all kinds of different drinks in amazing places. Lastly was the jazz tour at 5:30 and lasted about 2.5 hours. I was the only one during this portion. My guide Kevin was great. He is also a musician, so he was very into the jazz scene and had a lot of good suggestions. There was a lot of history attached too which I really liked. In conclusion, this was an all day adventure with a lot of amazing experiences and people. If you're interested in an all in one NOLA experience, you really can't go wrong here. Urban Adventures always has the best adventures. You definitely won't be disappointed with this one.
