What To Expect
1
WeVenture New Orleans
Your New Orleans Total Day Tour starts where it all began, on the banks of the Mississippi River. From here, you’ll witness the lifeblood of this region which brought new cultures, new influences and new ingredients to the USA through its ports. As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. To wake up your taste buds, we’ll indulge in New Orleans’ most iconic breakfast pastry, the beignet.
2
French Market
Next we will head to The French Market, the site of America’s oldest public market and then on to the picturesque streets of the French Quarter where your guide will take you to some of their favorite palate-pleasing spots. You’ll sample both a classic dish, as well as a delicacy that you’ve probably never seen outside Cajun country. You’ll then have the chance to try a dish that sparks more controversy amongst chefs than any other in New Orleans: gumbo. We’ll also indulge in a sweet treat made from locally grown sugarcane and the region’s abundant pecans.
3
French Quarter
There will then be an opportunity to have a coffee or do some souvenir shopping in the French Quarter with your guide before we take a short walk to Jackson Square, where we’ll begin the cocktail portion of your total day tour! We will be going beyond the tourist trail to show you what really makes New Orleans cocktail culture unique. For our first cocktail stop we will travel back to the 1700s and visit a bar which used to entertain some of the most eccentric characters in New Orleans history. We will taste a famous drink of the city and learn how it has influenced New Orleans drinking culture today. We will then visit one of your guide’s favorite bars and taste a drink so good you’ll forget there’s alcohol in it. Next up, we will sample the ‘official cocktail of New Orleans’: the Sazerac. One of the first cocktails ever invented, it’s definitely tasty enough to stand the test of time. Our final cocktail stop will be at one of the classiest establishments in town to try one of the city’s most esteemed drinks, the Ramos Gin Fizz. After your first sip, you’ll truly understand why New Orleans has been called, “the cradle of civilized drinking.”
4
Louis Armstrong Park
There will be an opportunity to rest your feet or grab a bite to eat before the jazz portion of the tour begins. Then we’ll head over to the historic and beautiful Louis Armstrong Park in the Tremé neighborhood.
5
Frenchmen Street
We'll begin to make our way to the popular Marigny neighborhood, named after the nobleman and good-time guy of the same name. Updated for modern thirsts, Marigny is a hip nightlife area that appeals to New Orleanians and visitors alike. Your guide will lead the way, making sure to point out a few popular local music and nightlife haunts along the way. Soon we will arrive at the famous Frenchmen Street, the largest concentration of live music venues in the city. Your guide will take you inside one of his/her favorites for a beer on us (you’re very welcome to purchase additional beverages if you want them). In New Orleans, there’s always the opportunity for an element of surprise. We’ll be on the lookout for impromptu street performances, which always make the night special. And if the timing and mood is right, we’ll get behind the scenes with one of the bands in between sets.

We thought that this full day tour would be a single tour with food, cocktails and jazz, with the same tour guide for the day. As it turned out (and I should have read the TA reviews in advance to understand this) we had three separate tours, with three seperate guides. As a result the handoff was not very graceful and confusing. We really enjoyed Kevin, who did the food tour, but wish he had been the jazz tour guide because that part with Kaizer was very disappointing. We spent far too long discussing politics and very little time enjoying and learning about jazz in New Orleans. I would suggest that you use this company for the food and possibly the cocktail tour and find somebody more connected to do a jazz tour.

Hello and we acknowledge your feedback. We are sorry to hear of the response to our experience and will discuss the situation you’ve given. Your jazz tour guide has very high marks for his version of the tour, especially as a born and raised local with a keen view of the city’s music- so not sure of the situation- especially since he is not particularly much into politics. We would have been happy to discuss this with you, but unfortunately, this is the first we have heard of any issue. Safe travels

My hubby and I were on our first ever NOLA visit and decided to go for the full day three event tour. We had Angela for our Food tour, what a lovely lady. Angela was knowledgable and enthusiastic, very proud as she should be of the dishes we tried ... authentic and delicious NOLA food. Thank you so much Angela. We had beautiful Sophie for our Cocktails tour. Another very smart lady giving us history and knowledge of the French Quarter whilst organising divine cocktails for us to taste. We felt that we got the real FQ, not just the crazy busy part too. Sophie, you are a darling, thank you for going that extra mile.x. We had the incorrigible and talented Kaiser for our Jazz tour. We had fun as we wandered and he gave us relevant and interesting background and up to the minute Jazz. We finished off at a pub for some drinks and soaked up the atmosphere. Your team were amazing Urban Adventures, we had an absolute blast and will treasure the memory of our day together with our pictures for many years to come.
