Tree Canopy Climbing on Lopez Island

Overview
Come experience the only old-growth tree climbing activity in the State of Washington and create some unforgettable memories. This is your chance to do something not even .1% of the population has done, but now you can. In small-groups climb together on 1-4 trees between 100 and 200 feet high, depending on your athletic level. Some of the trees are even rare old-growth trees. See the unique perspective above the canopy and feel what it's like to be eye level with an eagle as you climb/swing around like a monkey through the open air and catch branches, while safely harnessed by rope. Climb your way up some of the tallest trees in the world to amazing views of the upper canopy, mountains, and ocean. Connect to nature like you have never done before, beyond the trail.

During this activity you will explore the special ecology of old-growth trees and its importance in our environment and so much more.

Groups larger than 6 people, please contact us directly.

My kids (8 and 11) and husband loved it. (Note: this is harder than it looks! But my two kids scrambled up fast and made it seem easy. Kids, man... I struggled though and, in the end, decided to be the family photographer from the ground instead — but I'd definitely give it another go again someday.) Our guide, Rilen (sp?), was awesome. He was extremely nice, reassuring, helpful, and knowledgable. It's hard to think about your kids dangling 250' up in the air, but by the time they made it to the top of that tree, I was confident they were safe. They were so proud of themselves and can't wait to go back. Be sure to leave time to explore Deception Pass State Park, too. It's beautiful.

The guys were excellent. Very knowledgeable and very patient. Unfortunately they did not have a harness that would end up fitting me but not entirely their fault. I’m a big guy so it was outside the norm I’m sure. However the company, and the two men that were onsite that day did a great job of trying to make it work. I would recommend this activity, this company and these two men to anyone who is tempted to try this. They were impressive.

My two teens - 13 & 16 - had the very best time canopy climbing. Isaac was their guide and he was excellent. It was such a fun and exciting activity for them. I’m so glad we were able to go!
