We've always had a passion for donuts, but only recently did we realize just how many others do too. And when looking around, we didn't see anything that truly celebrated donuts in all their glory, hence the Underground Donut Tour was born. This tour is for anyone who truly enjoys donuts. At each location, you'll be able to try a curated sample or samples of that location's best donuts. Many locations offer vegan, gluten or nut free options, however, please make sure to let us know ahead of the tour, so we can make sure to highlight those specifically for you. Our tours include such favorites as Do-Rite Donuts, Firecakes, Stans, and Doughnut Vault.

What To Expect

The Loop

The Underground Donut Tour takes place over two hours. We'll visit four of the best donut stores in the city. All of them are located in the Chicago Loop area and we'll try a few donuts from each location. Donuts are included in the cost of the tour. You'll also have the option to purchase additional donuts if you wish.

Our family had a great time on the Underground Donut Tour. Our tour guide Elizabeth was very funny and knowledgeable about all the Donuts shops we visited. The walk is really easy and an excellent way to see the city. Our favorite Donut was the Chocolate Old fashioned at Do-Rite Donuts. I would highly recommend this tour.

I went on this tour for my sons 10 year old birthday who LOVES donuts. Jackson, our tour guide, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable about the donuts but very patient with my son and all of his questions. The walk was easy and enjoyable after tasting so many delicious donuts. It was wonderful to try so many different types of donuts and found a few new favorites. Thank you for a memorable day in Chicago!

Honestly, I could not recommend this tour enough. Our tour guide Jackson was phenomenal. It was a blast to tour around downtown Chicago, discovering unique flavors of artisan donuts and learning interesting tidbits of information about the city along the way. At the first stop on our Friday tour, we got to watch the donuts being made and ate them fresh off the griddle. The donuts featured on the tour were innovative flavors that you wouldn’t think to put together for a donut, but proved astoundingly delicious. All in all, this tour is perfect for donut enthusiasts of all ages.
