Met the bus at the hotel and they were on time. Shaun Washington of Unique Horse Farm Tours was our guide The bus has character and AC, Shaun checked numerous times that everyone was comfortable. He demonstrated knowledge of the farms, horses and owners. Talked about the history, antidotal stories about the horses, jockies and owners. Shaun told us the names of the farms, but sorry, I did not take notes so may have them inaccurate. At the Hill and Dale farm, Shaun knew that they were trying to put a mare in a stallions pasture, he was right and the handler corrected on her own. He took us to a couple barns and we got to pet horses in the stalls and colts, Shaun warned us about which would bite (I thought that was real nice to know). The last farm he took us to the horses were in pasture with colts, some liked to be petted while others shied away. A gray brood mare attempted to push her colt/charge up to the fence to get some attention. The owner of that farm (Katie Rich) came over to say thanks for coming by, had a great Irish brogue. I would reccomend the tour.
