Shaun Washington, whose family has been involved with the Kentucky equine industry for many decades, is the owner of Unique Horse Tours and provides excursions in his bus. Shaun has a great knowledge of breeding and racing and has relationships with the major horse farms. Shaunā€™s tour, which has been running for years, is interesting to both casual visitors and more serious racing and horse fans. He has countless stories of horses their owners and their staff. His tour, which lasts two or three hours, passes through the rolling hills of Midway and Lexington. Two of the farms I visited that morning (although I missed the first farm) were KatieRich and Shadwell , although Shaun is in a position to arrange tours with other well known farms. A lot of fun, good value and very highly recommended.

Having Shaun as our guide, made our farm tour experience most memorable and enjoyable. Not only did he give us the flexibility to pick and choose farms to see, his breadth and depth of the history and anecdotal stories captivated our attention from beginning to end. Moreover his charm is beguiling with a sense of humor to go with it. I heartily recommend Unique Horse Tours. Put this on your ā€œmust doā€ list when you go to Lexington, Kentucky šŸŽšŸŽšŸŽ

Sean is an excellent tour guide. Not only does he have an abundance of knowledge about the thoroughbred industry, he knows folks at every stop, from trainers, to exercise riders to those who tend the horses that are now in breeding. My wife and I decided that if and when w return to the Lexington area, Sean's tour would be oun our list of things to do and repeat.
