It was closed the day we bought the ticket for which makes me wonder why I could buy a ticket as a visitor from out of town. I obviously would like a refund

Texas and early American history told with exquisite antiques in electronic explained creative displays in a unique magnificently twice restored building that would be worth visiting it alone. An elevator enables all to tour the entire display and facilities in just over an hour. A Texan’s delight. Don’t miss the introductory video of its history.

This museum is housed in a beautiful building that served as an orphanage for most of its life. The art collection wasn’t really my cup of tea, but that doesn’t mean someone who appreciates Texas history and western art won’t love it. There is a very small section in the basement that talks about the history of the orphanage and I really would have loved a tour to learn more about the history of the orphanage and the building. They were supposed to have a tour during the time we were there, but it wasn’t running. We spent about an hour. There’s a parking lot in the back along with lots of street parking in front.
