Due to updated Coast Guard requirements, all guests and crew must wear masks while in enclosed spaces aboard all our vessels which include Atlantis Submarines. Atlantis Adventures will no longer require guests to show proof of vaccinations or negative Covid-19 tests at the time of check-in.

What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

We took a morning tour in a premium sub and it was totally worth it! We have toddlers and a grandmother so snorkeling wasnt a practical choice. We saw it all from the sub! You will take a boat from the Hilton Hawaiian Village which gives a nice view of the Waikiki coastline and then transfer to your ticketed sub. The sub was super clean and the windows were nice and large. We each basically had our own window. They have created the reefs by dropping ships and planes but thats fine with me. It has attracted an amazing variety of fish and if lucky you may get to see a Hawaiian Sea Turtle or 2. The guide is informative and funny. Tour last about an hour. They will also validate parking at the Hilton for four hours, so we bought an ACAI bowl afterwards at Leilani's and some Honolulu Cookie store Cookies (so yummy and you can even sample about 9 varieties if you dont want to buy).

During the trip we only saw a few fish very far away from the submarine, other than that there was just a ship, some seaweed, rocks, and sand. Did not see turtles or corals at all. Was a pretty disappointing and boring trip for $150 per person.

Jason was our tour guide and he was pretty amazing! As a local, he told us about growing up on the islands and how to find specific animals in the water. He was also pretty hilarious! We saw at least 10 sharks, 2 sea turtles, lots of tropical fish, an octopus, and a sea star! It was incredible! The only thing that I didn't like was being so close to the others on the tour. We were all seated next to each other with our legs touching and with our backs up against each other. I paid for the yellow ticket though, so you get what you pay for. The seating is supposedly different if you pay more. But it was worth it to see all those sea creatures!
