What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

We took a ride on the Original Atlantis on Kona 30 years ago. It was unique and interesting. The trip on the new one on Oahu was fantastic as we saw much more than fish. WW11 remains are only a mile or so off Waikiki and we descended to 110 feet. recommended for everyone.

I went on this alone as my wife could not climb down the steps. Be forewarned, you must climb down and back up steps. But if you can make it, it is worth it. The bus picked me up at the Hyatt and then takes you to the hotel (Hilton I think) where the drop off point is. Then you take a boat ride out to the sub. We dove down to 111 feet and our our trip we saw 8 sea turtles, which was amazing to see. Someone saw a small shark. Both side sees different things, but the sub turns around and reverses it so everyone sees the opposite side. great way to see what a reef looks like.

This was everything I had hoped for. Brilliant clear water, lots of sea life, really cool ship wrecks, sunken airplanes, and scuba divers! Excellent! The ticket people were absolutely the best. We missed our ride to the event and had to get an Uber ride. We got there too late. I had prepaid for the 11:00 am sub. When I got there, they knew who we were, knew we missed the ride, and had 2 seats on the 12:00 sub waiting for us!!!! What more could I ask for?? After checking in at the point of departure, we boarded a beautiful ship to ferry out to the submarine. It was a great ride. Lots of Sea Turtles in the water. Great views. Once we arrived at the site, we watched as the submarine surfaced. It was really neat to see it. Once on the surface, we docked with the sub and the people on board the sub came aboard our ship. Once the sub was empty, we boarded it. In only a few minutes we submerged and were on our way. We dove to 125 feet and the water was clear and the views flawless. Fantastic.
