What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

I love snorkeling, but don't dive and often wondered what diving would be like. The submarine tour got us down over 100 feet and up close to sunken ships, planes, and structures that allowed us to see the sea life up close. Loved it! My only concern was that it was sometimes hard to hear the guide. It was a fun group activity!

We had a blast on the submarine tour. The ride out to the submarine was really nice aboard a large two-story vessel. The submarine dive took us down to about 115 feet. We saw shipwrecks and tons of sea life. I definitely recommend this for families with children, couples, singles and others looking for a fun experience.

We decided to book this experience because we were not sure we would be able to do much snorkeling. We went with a big group of 11, kids and adults. A boat takes you over to the submarine; we sat up top on the deck and had a great view. Once you get to the area where the submarine and location boats are, they explain how to see where the submarine will surface and the anticipation was fun. The kids all yelled with excitement when it finally surfaced. It was too funny! They kept our group seated together on the submarine, which we appreciated. Although, we had to split the kids so everyone could hear the guide. (So sorry for those who had to deal with the lively kids in the beginning - they absolutely enjoyed the experience.) We saw almost every fish listed on the brochure they gave us. The turtles were really cool to watch swimming. The ride was smooth, roomy, comfortable temperature, relaxing and enjoyable. The guide was funny and informative- pointing out things we might have missed looking on our own. The captain even took the time to chat while we were waiting to get off the submarine. All of the staff was friendly! The ride was about an hour and well worth the time and money! Back on the surface, we boarded the ship again. This time as we looked out on the top deck over the water, I think I was the one yelling like a little girl. There were so many dolphins jumping and playing in the boats' wake! It was unexpected and completely amazing! Highly recommend this activity!
