What To Expect

Atlantis Submarines Waikiki

The Atlantis submarine Hawaii adventure begins with a short (approximately 10 minutes) shuttle ride out to the submarine boarding site. Descending below, your time underwater on the Oahu submarine tour is around 45 minutes. Returning to the world above, your shuttle is waiting to return you to land. The Oahu submarine tour dive site is home to many Hawaiian fish, coral and turtles. On this truly eye-opening experience, you'll visit sunken ships, airplanes and other artificial reefs. The submarine has a spacious air-conditioned interior, large view ports and comfortable seating. If you haven't taken a trip to the bottom of the ocean before, the Atlantis Submarine Oahu Adventure is a "must do" for the whole family during your visit to Hawaii. Check out the world's largest hi-tech 64-passenger submarine offers an enhanced amount of personal space and large viewports only available to Premium Tour passengers.

I would have rather given the Hobo at the beach park my $260 than to spent it on this tour. · Lets put aside the I am a 20 retired Navy Submariner, That I have been Snorkeling in Hawaii for the last 25 years and that if I pay $100's to be entertained that my host should at least put in a little effort. · But I guess this is, What it is. · I walked to the beach park that I was told to go to, from my home in Waikiki, with my family, only to be put on a bus and taken to the piers by Ward ave. · We road a boat out in to the bay where we transferred to the submarine. We submerged and spent our time looking at a few sunken structures put there by this company. Seen a remarkably few fish, Surfaced, transferred back to the boat and was dropped of at the pier I walked to in the first place. · There is more, but I will stop here. · Spend your money at the beach, Buy a good meal, go to Hanauma Bay or visit the North Shore. · Happy Hawaiian Days....

Got on the boat for a short ride to the submarine. Great views of Waikiki waterfront and Diamond head on route. There are 2 submarines to choose from, we picked the biggest one ans it was approx $10-$15 more than the smaller sub. The design of the seating means everyone gets a clear view through the huge windows. We spent about 45 minutes under water, reaching a depth of 100 metres. We past sunken ships and planes that create a man made reef for the sealife and if you are lucky you can spot a turtle or two!

You board a ship just dockside, next to the Hawaiian Hilton Resort, which then transports you to the waiting submarine. The boat ride was fun and the staff friendly and knowledgable. A great place to get an unobstructed view of Diamondhead. The staff carefully board the passengers into the sub where you sit on a long bench with a medium-sized window available for every passenger. It is interesting to watch the sub operator in the front of the sub. A little secret I recommend is to be the last person to board the sub since the last seat will be closest to the sub operator and it is likely that you may have no one sitting sext to you in the small seating area. The sub submerges to over 100 feet as you pass by a ship wreck and the remains of an airplane both which were scuttled by the Atlantis corporation about 30 years ago to add an interesting sight. You may see scuba divers swimming around the boat and airplane. The water is fairly murky so all of your photos will be grayish. A few fish and turtles were observed but nothing unusual or large. All in all, a nice activity especially for children and for first-timers to Hawaii.
