I booked this full day Class 3 & 4 Whitewater River adventure for myself and a friend. Re: Food issues: Most importantly, my friend called NAVTEC at least 3 - 4 days prior to trip and told the young female voice she required gluten free food choices. No GF items were available when lunch was served. Being gluten-free is not a lifestyle choice. Gluten, It's a real allergy and causes a lot of pain if eaten by individuals allergic to it.She gets physically sick if she eats food with gluten. She brought a bar and I happened to pack an organic apple. This is all she was able to eat for the day. Don't offer food options if you're not going to stand by it. NAVTEC assured her no problem to accommodate her.
2nd: Don't judge a book by it's cover. My friend and I are in our later 60s and are very active outdoors climbing, hiking, Whitewater rafting etc and still love and enjoy a good adventure. We are both experienced in white water rafting. We were moved from the front of one boat (Warren) to the back of another (Chase) before hitting the class 3 and 4. This was disappointing. Chase please speak up so the entire boat can hear when you are telling your stories about the canyon.
