Then step into your boat, push off from the bank and start down the Westwater Canyon section of the Colorado River.

Colorado River
Your full-day rafting trip through Westwater Canyon provides both challenging white water and stunning scenery. Raft through 12 Class III and IV rapids including Funnel Falls, Skull and Sock It To Me. Your expert guide rows your oarboat through the rapids while you hang on and enjoy the thrills and splashes. On most trips, paddleboats are also available and participants help power the raft while following directions from the guide. Between bouncy white-water sections, take in the stunning scenery of the canyon.

Westwater Canyon
The Westwater Canyon formed when the Colorado River cut across an ancient mountain range, the water channeling through hard rock to create the narrow canyon. Learn about the geology of the area from your guide, as well as its history and wildlife. You may see petroglyphs as well as remnants of the wild west such as old mining cabins and even an outlawā€™s grave. Look for bald eagles roosting in old-growth cottonwood trees, river otters playing in the eddies and beavers slapping their tails.

At noon your guide steers you to shore for a delicious buffet lunch on a riverside beach. Have time to rest in the shade, snap pictures and soak up the canyonā€™s beauty. Once you're refreshed, hit the river again for more fun. At the end of an exciting day of rafting, your guide returns you to Moab.

We had a fabulous day on the river with Navtech. We were picked up at our hotel, and driven out with fellow adventurers to the Westwater Ranger Station, where we got on rqfts and spent a magnificent day on the Colorado river. Everyone had wetsuits and splash jackets (given out at our campsite half way through the run) , dry bags were provided for belongings (so do take snacks, cameras, and extra layers if it's a cool day). The guides were all excellent - Jesse, Austin , David were kind and professional and full of stories. We were in Chase's boat and he was a wealth of information and lore about the Colorado Plateau. Just delightful to hear all that he had to share. His expertise in getting us through the Class 3 and 4 rapids and giving us a great time, was so clear - he made it look easy and we know it was NOT! We saw blue herons -a whole rookery - a bald eagle, and beautiful birds' nests clinging to cliff walls. It was all really excellent - and we had a blast. A wonderful day with a great crew!

This was in my bucket list. It was a great experience. All the guides were awesome. Special shout out to Tubbs. He is a walking encyclopedia about the area and itā€™s history. Jessie was awesome too and was all about safety. It was a great experience!

This canyon is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful and the rapids were so much fun! Do expect to get soaking wet and take extra clothes. Our guide Tubs was really informative, fun and helpful. He and our other guide David were absolute experts at maneuvering the boats. We saw lots of animals and the day was amazing. It was a REALLY cold day in April, and it would have been a great touch to bring hot water to make coffee or cocoa or tea, and would have made the world of difference to get a hot drink.
