Guests will then meet their personal guide and recieve the necessary equipment Including: life jacket, helmet and paddle.
After your guide double-checks to make sure all equipment is fitted properly, guests then hop on our bus for a short 10-minute ride to the launching point for your trip.

Big Creek was great! Camped with my 8 year old at Fox Fire Campground and did the upper Pigeon. Had a great time! All the guides are veterans. Do not hesitate on this company. Do not be intimidated by “white water”. Most anyone can do it and it is very exciting. You do not have to be “out doors-ey”. Go for it. The campground is at the takeout point for white water and put in point for scenic float. Stop looking and call big creek, now.

Big Creek Expeditions was a bit of drive from Gatlinburg where we stayed, but it was more than worth the ride. The experience of white water rafting was extremely memorable. The staff was clearly concerned about the safety of patrons and well versed in preparing people for the adventure. We rafted with Shane, who was outstanding - knowledgeable about the river and the various rapids as well as the surrounding area. He was great with kids and delivering instructions for the safe and very enjoyable navigation of the rapids. The trek contained enough of a sense of danger for the adventure-seekers, but was quite safe as we had kids between nine and eleven in our party. I highly recommend this activity and Big Creek Expeditions. I'm sure the other guides were excellent, but if you can, get Shane!

This is the best money spent in Gatlinburg. Our guide Stoney was the best. He added alot of comedy to our trip making even more fun. It was a great experience for my family and we all could enjoy it together. I can't wait to return to Gatlinburg so we can do it again and again. Thumbs up to Big Creek, the best on the "dirty bird".
