We had the 3 day pass and plotted which things we would do for each day. Traffic was terrible, but according to the drivers it was not yet the holiday traffic. Because it took so long for the bus to arrive at each stop, we could only accomplish 1 or 2 sights each day. Then, after visiting a site, the lines for the bus were extremely long and one time our wait was over 2 hours in freezing temps for the bus. Many buses came past us, but only had a few open seats. With a 5pm deadline to catch the bus (as announced by the tour directors), the was little time available to sightsee. My biggest complaint was that on Wednesday, before Thanksgiving Day, we took the bus to the history museum. The bus could not take us all the way to the museum and we were dropped on the far side of Central Park and told we must walk the distance through Central Park to get to the museum. Once on the other side of Central Park, we learned that the streets were closed and we would have to go several blocks out of our way in one direction, take the blocks back in the other direction on another street, and then we could reach the museum. After more than an hour of walking, we finally reached the history museum only to learn that it was closed for the day due to the parade balloon preparation. Then, to return to the bus, our route required us to walk several blocks out of our way, then back through Central Park, then the distance back to the bus stop. We walked until we could walk no more and then just hired an Uber. I think the best use for this bus is to simply ride it around the city and view the sites. Since we rode several different busses during our 3 day pass, we experienced several different tour guides. Most were good, but some felt it necessary to consistently complain or have a negative comment about every site they told us about. I typically take bus tours in every major city that I visit. This one was my least favorite.

Bought the 3 day, 5 attraction package. Would I say it's a little expensive, yes. Did it meet my expectations, yes. First the bus....there are stops which you queue up to get on bus. Audio was not 100% working on all buses. Had a couple were it would cut in and out. Guides were knowledgeable and helpful when asked questions. There are many stops from north to south but few going back so you spend a good amount of time in traffic. Don't underestimate the amount of traffic time as it impacts the number of attractions you can see each day. Using the pass for the attractions was easy and no issues were encountered. I would say I saved money by purchasing the multi option pass than buying individually but would probably do it differently next time.

I use big bus if its available wherever l go. Usually its a great way to get your bearings and much more fun to hop on and off. BIG mistake. The employees are so rude and arrogant. Not sure if it just New York however coming from San Francisco the day before and thoroughly enjoying the tours to this was upsetting. Firstly it does not matter if you have already paid for or buying it off the street from the pushy employees, you will be treated rudely and any question you may ask will be meet with sarcasm and a general roll of the eyes. You are first lined up to get your tickets. The person behind the counter was the only real nice person and l think he just affiliated not an actual employee. Then you get to go and line up behind a huge amount of people waiting to get on. I know its New York I know that its a tourist place however, everyone wants the top level. No-one wants to sit down the bottom were u cant see out of the windows due to it being blanked out with stickers. After 30 minutes and three buses we were finally on board. I didn't really care to much as first day we usually go to were we want to then try for top level access so we get to see the sights. The employees whom are given info over the mic are very rude and really don't know much information. Whenever they were asked a question they were rude as it seemed like an inconvenience to be asked. We hopped on and off a couple of times so never the same person and this happened every time. In the end due to all the above we ended up not using the 3 days and went about the subway which is faster and easier to get from point A to B. So do yourself a favor only do one day and good luck with trying for top level or a pleasant experience.

Good Afternoon Samantha S, Thank you for taking the time to share your information with us, as we rely on our customers feedback to better our services. It is so disappointing to hear about the way you were treated by our agents and guides. Our employees go through an extensive training process and are expected to treat all of our guests with professionalism, courtesy and respect. Anything short of that is completely unacceptable and goes against our core values. Please email [email protected] with any information you can give us (names, descriptions, bus numbers) so that this information can be forwarded to the proper departments, ensuring appropriate action can be taken. We have had an increase in ridership, and are in the process of adding more buses to meet the demands of our customers, thus decreasing wait times and adding more room. In regards to the windows on the bottom level, the decals are specially made to be seen through. If your vision was in any way impaired, we sincerely apologize, for it is our purpose to provide our guests with a memorable experience while you are here in NYC.
