Who would think that cold February in New York during the waning days of Omicron (fingers crossed) was a good time for a food tour? Well, I did. And I was right. I went on "Asia in Queens: Exploring NYC’s Largest – and Most Diverse – Chinatown" with Esneider, a well informed Queen's resident who was knowledgable about both the food and the neighborhood's history. He was also fun to talk to. The dumplings, noodles, soup, rolls, buns, pancakes, and more were each delicious. The walk-up peking duck bun spot was perhaps the highlight for me - crispy skin, flavorful meat, scallion, dab of sauce. My mouth is watering as I write this. Highly recommend as a tasty way to learn about a fascinating place in the world.
