The driver was there before the time requested at 4.00am and waited. I was informed by the driver that I had to pay the $22 for the toll plus his tip. He kept repeating about the tip for him. I was a bit confused as I knew the toll for the Lincoln Tunnel was a maximum of $16.
The road to Newark Airport was very quiet. The driver was driving very badly, irratically and was driving in the centre of the dual carriageway. On 3 occasions the cars behind him sounded there horns at him so they could overtake as he was taking up both lanes. A stressful 25 minute journey!!!!
When we arrived at the airport I questioned the cost of the toll I.e. why it was $22 and not $16 max. The driver became very angry and aggressive towards me. He kept saying "$22 plus tip". I handed him $25 and he got even more angry and started saying to me "my tip, my tip". I said to him "sorry but no more as you are not being very pleasant towards us. Why should I be giving you a tip?" He then said something to me in his native language which I think was chinese and got in the car and drove off.
Carmel Limo should be more considerate in choice of driver for both safety of driving and customer service.
