I had booked airport transfers with Carmel for a family trip to NYC three weeks ahead of time. Service on arrival was fine. On departure, I was called five minutes after the scheduled pick up time, told that they were experiencing delays, and told that they would not be able to pick us up for at least 45 minutes. I asked what I was supposed to do to get to the airport. I was told that I should make other arrangements, then the agent hung up.
Leaving a family of four with six suitcases stranded on a rainy New York City sidewalk, with zero notice on an advanced booking secured with a credit card, is unacceptable.
This was not the first time that my family had used Carmel, but it will be the last.
