The wineries were beautiful and all the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. Paul was a great guide and person overall. My friends and I had some good chats with him at the wineries and he was very kind and knowledgeable about the local area, the people and even the wine making process. I would recommend the wine trolley if you want an affordable way to see some great local wineries and have a fun day with friends or family.

Sure, rain was expected, so our “trolley” turned into a Cadillac SUV, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley knows how to show you a wonderful time in wine! Leif, our driver, had a wonderful itinerary prepared, and was even able to throw in several additional wineries since our group was so small and we moved quickly through our wine tastings (though we always felt we had the right amount of time at each winery). Lunch was set-up at just the right time, and at just the right winery, with awesome food! While driving between wineries, any questions we had about the area and wine-making were answered by Leif. There is no need for any visitors to the area to have any concerns that the recent fires will adversely impact your visit. Sonoma is definitely open for business!

Our tour was on the first day they were back in operation after the wildfires, so may not be entirely representative of the normal tour. Due to the poor air quality, we were transported in a van instead of the trolley. Which was fine, the van was very comfortable. Also, I believe our group was smaller than what is typical - only 12 or so people, and our group made up more than half of the tour. The wineries were (understandably) not very crowded, so the service was very attentive. But even given the special circumstances, I would say that it rates a five based on the wineries we visited. All were excellent! So good that we joined clubs at three of them - Larson, Gloria Ferrar and Jacuzzi. The lunch was terrific as well, we enjoyed it so much we went to the Girl and the Fig in downtown Sonoma for dinner afterwards!
