The Wing Ride: The Hidden History of Chicken Wings Food Tour

Earn your wings on this fresh Buffalo food tour with samples of Buffalo's tastiest chicken wings. We’ll dive deep into the history of Buffalo’s most famous and misunderstood dish and attempt to answer the question, “Who was the true inventor of the first Buffalo Wing?”.

The tour begins with a visit with Lina Brown Young, daughter Buffalo’s original King Of Wings, who shares personal photos, stories, and her dad’s long-lost mumbo wing recipe, which had been unavailable for 23 years.

We’ll continue with a stop at the Anchor Bar, where we’ll learn the wild story of how their wings were born by accident and sample their classic Buffalo Wing. The tour concludes with a visit to Tiny Thai, where we’ll sample a legendary recipe that connects the past, present, and future of chicken wings.

Experience the tour that’s been featured by the Food Network, NY Times, and Vice Media, and learn how an American food icon came to be.

The guide was very detailed in his research about the city, wings, and enthusiastic in his presentation. However it turned out to be more work than expected (over 10 mile ride, 1/2 of which was uphill) and the description online was very different.

The route was indeed 9.5 miles and predominantly flat. The details, including mileage, are outlined on our website for transparency. I also want to address the issue of the Broadway Market being closed on Sundays, as mentioned in our description, which may lead to changes in wing stops based on availability. As for your husband, I accommodated him with an e-bike at no additional cost. It was meant as a gesture of hospitality, and I hope it added a positive element to your tour. I understand that the tour may not have aligned with your expectations for a shorter ride. Should you decide to give us another chance in the future, we'll strive to provide an experience more in line with your expectations.

A combination steeped in History AND Flavor! It was thought provoking, informative, entertaining…and incredibly delicious!!! What a wonderfully curated experience! The food, the history, the route were all fantastic. This is the second ride we did with Buffalo Bike Tours and we're already talking about returning next year for our third! Highly recommended.
