The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.

Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion.

We got picked up at 6:30 am in Phoenix downtown and went first to Sedona to see the red rock mountains, then headed to the grand canyon. We arrived a bit before 12 pm. The view is absolutely amazing. We were back around 6.30 pm. Lunch and water were included. Our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. I recommend this tour.

We got picked up early in Scottsdale to begin the long drive up to Grand Canyon with a few well timed stops along the way to take pictures of the beautiful desert scenery. Our guide Kim was unbelievable, very knowledgeable about almost anything that had to do with the natural phenomena of the desert or the canyon. Her super friendly demeanor and passion for what she does really made the trip come alive for us and actually made the drive up interesting and not feel like long boring haul. The canyon itself is indescribable, only as godly art on an earthly canvas which really must be seen to to be believed. Pictures just cant capture the beauty or the experience. I do recommend bringing a neck pillow for the ride if you get uncomfortable on buses or vans but all in all it was a near perfect experience.
