When purchasing our tickets we were told the cruise was 1st come, 1st serve--no reservations. We got in line which had all the different cruises in one line, waiting over an hour. They said to get in line about 15-20 minutes before the cruise but we would have missed the cruise and had to wait until a future cruise time bc there were so many people. We finally got onto the boat and sat on the 1st level, the waves hit the windows so it was hard to see. They go out just past the Golden Gate Bridge, turn around and then go by Alcatraz but did not circle the island. They have a bar on board, mixed drinks were $14, all drinks made with vodka.

This is actually the second time I've done this 1 hour tour after my previous visit to SF almost 10 years ago. This was part of my citipass attraction booklet. Unfortunately, it was very foggy and I was not really able to see the bridge until we were right under it! No matter, I go for the views and they great lecture they give while you are on the boat. It is pre-recorded and I recommend you sit close to the speaker if you are interested and want to hear everything. Last time I went it was sunny so I would say that was a better experience but I think we'll look back and laugh at our pictures of the fog. This really is quite worthwhile in any weather. Tips: 1.It can get very cold and windy on the boat. Please be sure to dress accordingly. 2. This does NOT stop at Alcatraz but sails around Alcatraz. You would need to do a specific Alcatraz tour to make sure you can get onto the rock

Another City Pass attraction. Goes around Alcatraz Island & goes under the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a narrated tour. Good for people who just love being on the water.
