This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

We loved our dry land mush experience. Sam and Josiah made the adventure extra special by sharing their expertise and extensive knowledge of not only the sport but how the dogs train and the incredible effort taken to care for these beautiful animals. The dry mush was a blast and our team was so sweet- Larry, Buttercup, Rock and Paper. In fact all the dogs we interacted with in the yard were so friendly and sweet. One of the highlights was meeting the four special pups who were involved in an unfortunate accident with a snow machine and hearing their incredible rehab story. It’s obvious how much Dallas and the team care for the well being of their dogs 🥰. And of course, loving on the puppies was just the best! Thank you AK Dog Sled Tours for a fantastic experience - hope we can visit you next time on the glacier!

It was a dream come true! It was a real hands on experience and you got to see how an Iditarod kennel is run, by one of the best, Dallas Seavey. We got to pet the dogs and were given so much "behind the scenes" info. Samantha, was so personal and helpful, truly feel her love for what she does and her love for the dogs! Being put on a makeshift sled, being pulled thru the woods, was icing on the cake! This is a MUST DO experience!

This is the best dog mushing experience you can have in Alaska. Dallas and his team were excellent, and their carts to ride with the dogs are unique and only available at AK Dog Sled tours. My family and I really enjoyed the mushing, dog kennel tour.
