This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

So much fun and educational! The dogs were all friendly and well cared for and eager to have visitors and clearly knew their job and wanted to do it and go faster than we let them! This operation is top notch and owner/operator is 6X Iditarod Champion Dallas Seavey. Exceeded our expectations all around. Team was knowledgeable and many of the dogs we met and who were on our teams are also Iditarod Champions - famous dogs!!!

You can't imagine the power and the excitement of 4 dogs tied to a "sled." We had so much fun, and had to ride the brakes the whole time to keep the dogs from surging forward. They want to run! These are Iditarod racers, and champions (the owner has won 6 times). Our whole family thought this was a highlight of our Alaska adventure. It is a bit of a drive, but so worth it.

We loved our visit to the kennel! I had girlfriends visiting from Minnesota and it was so nice to take a trip to Talkeetna to see the area as well as visit all the doggos! Our guide, Sara, was very knowledgeable and helpful and I especially appreciated meeting some of the dogs whose stories I have followed over the years (Miss Faloo!). Getting to finish up with a mushing "trip" with the dogs was the icing on the cake. This is a well-oiled and well kept operation and it was a honor to catch these dogs in their off-season. I would absolutely recommend this tour to others visiting the area, and I would return with more friends when they come visit.
