We did the summer dryland mushing experience on a 50-degree Fahrenheit day in the driving rain, through knee-deep mud, and still loved every minute of it! We didn't really know anything about the Iditarod before going, but had so much fun meeting the dogs, playing with the puppies, and then the highlight was absolutely the mushing. It wasn't physically difficult at all, as I'd worried, and seemed to be fun for both riders and drivers. (We were there with minor kids, so the parents drove both ways and the kids rode both ways, instead of switching off.) We very much appreciated that they provide boots in a variety of sizes. This isn't something I'd necessarily do multiple times, but I absolutely recommend it! It was one of the favorite things we did during a 2-week Alaska trip full of amazing experiences.
