This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

We learned about all aspects of mushing including sleds, racing with a particular emphasis on the dogs. The most fun was mushing a dog team pulling a sled with wheels. An experience I'll never forget and the high light my trip to Alaska. BTW, the stall was friendly and always accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. One of our sled dogs was a retired golden harness winner (meaning he was voted best dog by the participants in the Iditarod)! Meeting the puppies was great fun. Don't worry about the mud-- you'll get a couple of splatters but you won't look like you were mud wrestling (and we visited in a rainy summer). We learned the Iditarod had become controversial but if you visit it is obvious these dogs want to run and the employees love and care for the dogs. We were lucky and got a tour guide who had just qualified to race in the Iditarod. If you love dogs this is a great tour for you.

We had so much fun mushing, meeting all the dogs, and learning about the Iditarod. Sam and the team were so nice, helpful, and informative.
