This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Very educational and fun. If you have ever read stories of how sled dogs are mistreated, or not, a visit to Alaska Sled Dogs in Talkeetna is a must. You will see first hand how well these sled dogs are cared for before and during races.. You will learn how the dogs love to pull the sleds. You will learn what it is like to be a musher while competing in the Iditarod. Lastly you will have fun as you are pulled on a cart, that you control with one other person, through the woods by four wonderful sled dogs. We were fortunate to visit with a recent litter of pups that we were able to hold. All staff were wonderful. A special shout out to our guide Magda.

This was an amazing experience. Our host, Isaac, was very informative. We loved learning about the dogs and the operation and of course, the mushing!! So much fun!
