This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

We had the best time! We brought our Grandchildren ages 8 and 3. The dogs were amazing. The guides were amazing! The best experience that we could have imagined! They explained everything about the Iditarod race and the dogs. We got to pet the dogs and hold the puppies. It was an an experience that we will never forget.

We booked this excursion at the last minute and the friendly people at AK Sled Dog Tours were kind enough to add a tour for my family though they were booked for that day. This is such an amazing experience!! The staff were so lovely and welcoming—Terrence, Leddy and especially Rosie. It really was so fun to see all the retired dogs outside and inside, plus the 90+ potential Iditarod-running dogs outside. A full sensory experience!! We received thorough instructions on driving and handling the dogs from the cart and then we were off to the track. The track winds through the woods and even though it had drizzled all day long, it really just added to the experience! Wear a rain jacket and enjoy!!! We got to meet the puppies and see Dallas Seaver’s champion trophies before heading back to downtown Talkeetna. All in all, a wonderful way to spend half a day—and one of the highlights of our trip to Alaska!
