Amelia Island is full of rich history, and is the only location in America to have flown 8 independent flags. It’s rich history takes us on a journey through time including the Timucuan Indians who were our first inhabitants as far back as 2000 BC. The flags tell the story of religious struggle and persecution, the effect of Christianity disallowing any other God to be worshiped. The devastating impact of the Revolutionary war on the island and rebels acting in the name of higher power. Smugglers, slave traders and pirates have all had a part to play in the evolution of this Islands growth. This fascinating tour will take you on a journey through time and show you how such a small barrier island has had a major and little know impact on the history of America. The eight flags tour takes you on a historical journey through all of the locations that those flags have flown over the islands incredible history. The only location in America to have had this number of independent flags. You will travel through the historic downtown district and out to the original Fernandina. On our journey we will cover each of the flags, the period from which they flew and the historical significance behind all of those dates from a historical perspective.

Our group of 10 ancient 83-year-olds fit comfortably into one van. Great visibility and no hearing issues. Our driver/guide Daniel was an amazing character. So well informed on the history of the island. The tour was a great introduction to Island politics, architecture, and Daniel also made a few recommendations for present day eating and shopping. A wonderful beginning to our three day reunion on Amelia Island. Highly recommended.

This has really got to be one of the best tours ever, as everyone was out for a great time and I personally think that we had a whole bunch of fun? Great tour, wonderful people and a 5 Star review to top it off. what more could be expected? Amelia Island Historic Tours will all celebrate this weekend and thank you for an incredible memory and raise a glass to your continuing amazing health!

Our tour guide, Beth was very knowledgeable and was a very pleasant guide. We enjoyed the tour a lot! We had been to Amelia Island previously, so we wanted to do something different.

Beth was Very enjoyable, informative, 90 minutes, safe driver, kind and considerate tour guide. Even pointed out facts concerning St Augustine where I am from!

It's always a pleasure to welcome our guests as we travel around the sights of Amelia Island. Incredible history and some amazing Architecture with some complimentary adult beverages (direct reservations only) and water for good measure and we have an experience we hope will make for a memorable tour to last a lifetime?
