Lovely day and knowledgeable guides and luck- a pod of orcas eating isn't something you can plan. Our captain stuck around allowing us to get good photos of the whales jumping in the air. Varied sizes and ages. I would go out again.

Went out to view two pods of transient orcas feeding in the Haro Strait. The captain had intel from other charters and new right where to find them. Excellent looks. Our captain and other charters did a good job of rotating in and out for close looks, while maintaining respectable distance from the orcas and the other charters. Captain warned us of viewing possible carnage, as the transient orcas eat seals/sea lions (the residents only eat fish). All we saw was some blood in the water, but you could tell there was lots of action going on under the surface. Only downside of this trip is that it was a long ride out and it wasn't easy to enjoy the beautiful scenery out on the deck because the boat was going top speed and it was chilly. But that is just the luck of the draw due to the location of the orca pods at that time.

Our Captain and Expert worked very hard to find us the premier spot to watch whales. We had guest from France that thought the chance of actually seeing an Orca in the wild was pretty slim. They were absolutely amazed at the number of Orca they found, but also the incredible viewing we had. They are still talking about the experience.
