We had such a great time whale watching two years ago with Outer Island Excursions that we booked them again! I found a Groupon sale that made the price of whale watching much more affordable for five of us! To top it off, the company honored the Groupon price when I called them directly! Due to an unforeseen conflict, I asked the company to move the tour one day later. They made the change with no problem and no extra cost! I was very impressed with their customer service before I even took the tour! This time, the whale watching was more incredible! Captain Andrew followed an orca pod of 13 (with a gray baby orca!) and two humpback whales! We were so close to the orcas and humpbacks (still keeping the legal limit of space between the boat and the whales)! An orca even dove under the boat! Captain Andrew, Brooke and Dawn made sure we enjoyed our time! Our son, who does not impress easily, was very excited watching the whales that close! We will come back!

I guess we probably stayed on the sea more than 4 hours. Saw three kinds of whales. Specifically, we saw two Killer Whales families playing together. That was amazing. Small boat offered better washing experience than the bigger twin-body one.

We had an excellent trip with Captain Matt, Elizabeth & Amy. They were all very knowledgeable, our boat had the best viewing spots out of all of the other boats, and Matt had just the right amount of humor. Capt. Matt has been doing this for a while, and his experience definitely shows when predicting what moves the pod will make. Pro tip: while everyone is rushing to get to the top of the boat, secure the front :).
