Aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be predicted with 100% accuracy. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to see the aurora borealis, as Weather conditions are constantly changing and other conditions may also change.
We would not cancel due to lack of lights or cloudy skies.
Even if it snows a little, the tour will not be cancelled because the weather may change.
Dangerous weather conditions (heavy snow, rain, icy roads) and emergencies may result in cancellations.
Because of the natural things involved we have a NO REFUND policy.

The same cancellation policy applies to cancellations due to flight or train delays.

Michi was a great host. He picked us up at the appointed time and was gracious and entertaining. My only problem is that I feel with the weather conditions and forecast of heavy clouds, rain, and fog for the night, I think the excursion should have been canceled. There was a 99% chance of seeing the Northern Lights on the night of our excursion if the weather had been clear, but it was pretty obvious that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate.

Having to pay for 2 for no good reason. But I at least saw some some green clouds. I was in the solo seat in the front and the rest were already full so this was more than a rip off.

It is very unfortunate that you were not satisfied with our tour. Our tours are available for a minimum of two people. We were told from the booking site that you made your reservation with this agreement. Our van carries 14 passengers. Usually we only carry up to 12 passengers. (to avoid congestion). That day we had 11 guests on board so there was space in the back seat.

The “lodge” is very barebones. It is privately owned and not very large. Think of a one room home - that’s basically what the 2nd floor is. There was a very strong smell of gasoline on both floors. Nice outside viewing deck. However it started raining the night we were there. We should have just stayed at the lodge and waited it out. But Michi thought we’d have a better chance to find it in a different location. While he was just trying very hard to find the lights for us, his driving was questionable. He was using his phone to check directions and a webcam he knew of - all while driving. This caused him to cross into the other lane which would be oncoming traffic. Now traffic was light but it was still worrisome. He also stopped on the side of the road (sometimes not fully out of the road)a few times and turned off all lights to check the sky. Again, traffic was light but this still put us in danger of being hit by another car. We ended up just going back to the hotel. Michi was very nice and did have hot chocolate, coffee or tea available as well as cookies and chocolates. I think if we had just waited out the rain this would have been a better review. The price is kind of high for what you get.

It is very unfortunate that you were not satisfied with our tour. It was raining at the lodge that day. However, the east side was clear and there were reports of aurora sightings. We usually do not do this, but if there was a possibility, we wanted everyone to see the Northern Lights, so we drove there. We also apologize for the gasoline smell. It has now been resolved.
