Best of Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari Tour

Overview

Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole!

After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife.

The minimum age for wildlife safaris is 8 years old. (Private safaris have no age minimum.)
For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

Your wildlife safari may stop here. Your guide will educate you on the historical or geological significance of your stop. All stops are dependent on the road conditions, weather conditions and needs or interests of each group.

We had such a great experience with Jackson Hole WIldlife Safaris! Our guide, Jeffrey, was knowledgable about the area, wildlife, and history. He made sure we were safe, saw lots of animals, beautiful views, and had a great day. We opted for the elk refuge, while others in our group did not, and he ensured we were at the elk refuge meeting place on time and with tips for the best seats. We would definitely book with Jeffrey and JH Wildlife Safaris again.

My friends and I had the pleasure to spend the day with Barry searching for wildlife in the Jackson area. Barry was very knowledgeable about the area and had a great eye to spot all kinds of creatures! I would definitely do this tour again!

Jordan did a great job showing us the animals and sites around Jackson hole and the Grand Tetons. We saw creek otters, elk, moose, fox, sheep, bald eagle and other animals. The mountains were beautiful. Lunch was good. I would do it again if we are back in the area.
